I first noticed the overall strangeness of it with the abundance of what appears to be machine doubling, but then noticed the separation on the "E" in ONE, and shortly after, all of the lines that were on the coin. They run under all serif and images, but follow their set path underneath. ??
thanks, buddy c: This new hobby is starting to consume more than my normal hobbies, yet it is by far the cheapest entertainment...well its neck to neck with beachcombing! I appreciate your expertise on the matter, and II was wondering what you thought of the notches at bottom E, and the consistency of the doubled die, no matter the source. I'm just getting into all this so any pointers by using this as an example of what not to look for would be greatly appreciated c:
This is a relatively common occurance on cents, and not really something that is collectable. As far as doubled dies go, check out. http://coppercoins.com/advsearch.php Put in the date, mintmark and click either doubled die obverse or doubled die reverse to check out listings by year. Keep up the hunt!
