Maybe one of our French members can explain this better, but in my opinion this is rather a Third Republic coin. The Fifth Republic began in October 1958; a few weeks later the New/Nouveau Franc was introduced, but the N.F. coins were not issued until early 1960. So this 1 franc coin was probably issued at the time of the Fourth or Fifth Republic but uses a Third Republic design ... Christian
Does anyone have medieval Frankish Coins? I would love to see some. There is a lot of history there. Wonderful Francs!
