  2. one 1913 liberty head nickel

    34.0%

would you rather have two large trucks full of morgan dollars (that means you get the morgans, and the trucks to) or a 1913 liberty head nickel

I don't have the space for the trucks and the truck loads. :(

I'd rather have the morgans....They're probably worth more than the nickel, which would probably get confiscated by the Secret Service anyways....

What kind of trucks? By my calculation, 2 semi trucks full of Morgans would be slightly less than $15 million in face value, assuming each dollar takes up a volume equal to its diameter squared times its height. They would weigh 442 tons, and you have 12.7 million ounces of silver. That would be about $140 million in silver metal. You would also own about 2.3% of all the Morgan dollars ever minted. Assuming the date/mintmarks in the mix of Morgans is proportional to their respective mintage, you would own about 275 examples of the 1895 Morgan dollar. Ditto for the trucks. But you still wouldn't have a 1913 Liberty Head nickel.

I would take the trucks and the silver dollars. Then I would retire and become a Morgan dollar dealer. ha ha.

I have to go with the truckloads of morgans. I figure 2 trucks that size would be a nice rock hauling business. Assuming they don't break down as soon as I get them unloaded. :) Anyone want a job driving the other one? :) :)

Yep, spam. It's getting worse and worse. Instead of replying to it, and worse yet, quoting it, report it. It's the red button up in the top right of every post. Thanks very much 09 for the report.

Glad to have helped. All of these spam messages look like the same computer-generated style. Does CoinTalk have some sort of image verification code required for membership?

Thanks guys. That was the first spam I had noticed, and I was completely perplexed. Now I know how to report it in the future.

Edit: P.S., sorry I quoted the spam, I didn't know any better.

No problem really. I mean, the not knowing what to do part, that is. That's why I posted. ;)

The more people reporting the spammers, the cleaner we can keep the boards. :)

Id have to say the morgans, I love silver and love having a boatload of coins to sort. But I did see a 1913 V nickle at the smithsonian about 10 years ago. I spent alot of time looking at the coin collection in the smitsonian. Only thing was is they were heavily guarded, no chance for me to bring a souvenir home. Oh well

I think Morgans are common and overrated. They bore me! I know that there are trillions of you out there that collect them and I don't mean to offend but I'm sure Morgans will be around long after the cockroaches are ruling the planet.

Give me something with a story and a history anytime. The 1913 V has it all. Please deliver mine in a private jet. :mouth:

If the 1913 comes with a private jet, I would have to consider changing my answer.

The morgans would definitely be much funner to get than 1 1913 Liberty nickel. And 2 semi trailers full of morgan dollars would be worth quite a bit more than the 1913 nickel.

OK so now there are 11 people that want the 1913 Nickel. The more that want one the more we will just have to make and then the price will go down. I'll stop making them as soon as the price gets to low. :goofer: :)
