Hello. This Morgan Dollar dated 1921 seems to have an irregular bright lust. Could it be proof , or PL, or whatever grade you might guess. Any opinion is gratefully appreciated. Charles
With the amount of wear on that coin...if you say there is a lot of luster, my guess is it has been polished. Not to mention there were no 1921 proofs.
Looks like a circulated Morgan that was mounted in jewelry and polished. The four light areas on the obverse would be wear the prongs held the coin and the matching damage along the reverse would by where there was solder or where the coin was pushed tightly against the backing.

OK but those aren't official proof issues. And what are the chances that the original coin is one of those 100 or so? And also you could have just said that in the first place instead of telling me to do homework. Just saying...
