Just picked these up at a local shop. Not great but they look nice. Whatcha think, Cmon Speedy.. waiting your thoughts here. : )
Well I'm in no way a good grader or an expert on Franklins but here are my thoughts----these coins have been scaned so the luster isn't showing but I would say that they have abit but will wait and see what you say... On the 1950--it looks like its a low MS61/2--the reasons being while the hair looks flat I think that it was alittle weakly struck and if you would say that there is alot of luster than that would also point that it is MS On the 1949-S---nice harder to find key date coin---it can get $$$....it looks like an MS63---it almost looks FBL but I can't be sure--take a look---don't worry about the area close around the real Crack and near the ends of both sides---both grading companies will forgive alittle bit if there is a mark there...if I'm right and you got it cheap then you got a heck of a deal---these coins run close to $100 in MS grades---if not more---again since its a scan I could be way off on the grades---I'm guessing on all of them that there is luster. On the last one....AU58/MS60--it just looks like there is some wear on it alittle more than normal.... Check the top 2 for FBL and let us know Speedy
Well, lets say that I bought them right. The 49S shows alot of luster, Not full bell lines though, Close. The 50, that one might get the designation. Again alot of luster. The 51, Nice coin not a FBL but it is a weak srike. The scans dont do the luster justice as always. I need to get a better camera for this stuff. You wouldnt believe what I got these 3 for.. : ) Very happy purchase..
PLEASE don't tell me---I'm week right now from bidding on a 1932-D quarter---I just hope I win it---and I can't afford to buy Franklins and I would die if someone got a good deal J/K! I'm glad to hear you got a good deal---my dad picked up a 1949-S a few years back for over $100--its a nice MS64/5---the dealer marked some off for him too but it was still $$$ Speedy
Very nice coins, my friend. Congratulations! :smile The way I collect coins, is to learn all I can, forget what anyone else thinks about my coins, remember that this is a hobby, and enjoy what I'm doing. I hope you're enjoying coin collecting, half as much as me, Jim. :smile
Keneo I would say that it looks like that because its been scaned---when you scan a coin you lose all luster and it looks like an over dipped coin. Speedy
