    My First and Only Byzantine Coin

    This coin was given to me a few days ago by a dear friend and fellow member-

    Basil II and Constantine VII
    Anonymous Class 2 AE Follis
    (976-1028 AD)
    12.53g x 34.1mm
    Obverse: Front facing bust of Jesus, holding gospels surrounded by nimbate cross. IC-XC left and right of Jesus.
    Reverse: IHSVS XRISTVS BASILEU BASLE "Jesus Christ King of Kings"-In four line ornament below.
