Anyone else get your 2013 ASEs from the Mint yet?

Morgandude11 As long as it's Silver, I'm listening

Mine came today, and I am happy with it. Looks like the usual PR 69-70 No marks on the coin that I can see--some reflections off the capsule.

I'm waiting for my LCS to get some BU 2013's in. No luck yet.

They better hurry, because we have some young friends getting married soon. The perfect opportunity to give away a couple of ASEs, but I'd rather them be 2013 since they're getting married in 2013. Same thing with graduation presents, but they always get them in before then.

I don't want to start collecting the proof ASE's. Once I start, I'll need three of each year for my kids.

Proofs (especially Eagles) are especially addictive. You are wise not to start Blaubart.........

Green, I've been tempted to do the whole set, one per year but haven't gotten myself to commit. It's short and they are BEAU-TIFUL!

I don't care if they're considered coins or not, they're gorgeous. My next coin has to be a proof ASE.

    Thanks for sharing.

Did you say "SHORT"? It's 28 coins at better that 30 bucks apiece and of course, you'll have to get the W mint marked ones and then the S Mint marked ones and then the Reverse Proofs and the No S ones and then the No W ones and then the................................................

It's a fun set. Has some nice varieties and some fairly expensive coins but I wouldn.t necessarily consider it short.

An SBA Collection is Short. A War Nickel Collection is SHort.

    I'm Short.

Yes I said short. Compared to some series, say a merc or penny set, yes.

If I were to start this, and I'm not saying I'm going to, but if, I wouldn't be getting any of the special releases and anniversary sets. Just three proofs per year, one for each kid. If my wallet feels particularly thick, I might go for one of the reverse proofs for each kid.

Do they make reverse proofs every year? I didn't think they did.

I started buying for my two boys in 2010. I recently decided to go back and pick up proofs back to the year they started (1986), and have completed one run. Now I just have to decide which kid I like better. ;)

I assume there is a web page or document somewhere that gives the full list of the entire series, including the variations mentioned earlier. Or does that come from the "red book" or something else?

    Nope.

I meant just one reverse proof for each kid for the sake of variety. Not one reverse proof for each year. Sorry for the confusion.

    No. Reverse proof eagles were struck in 2006 (P), 2011 (P), and 2012 (S).

I like this site for quick reference....... http://americansilvereagles.us/

An more extensive guide (and a book I truly recommend getting) is "American Silver Eagles, A Guide to The U.S. Bullion Program" by John M. Mercanti and Michael Standish.
