1835 half cent whats the grade?

    Folks - this is in the scanner, but it is beautiful and has a great tone (purple)...

    Please let me know what you folks thing the grade is.

    the front looks like a die clash and a double strike on the head...

    can anyone help me here? or did I break protocol somewhere?

    You didn't break protocol, just not a lot of half cent collectors here, or anywhere for that matter :) I would say around vf 30 by EAC standards, maybe as high as 40.

    It's a C-1 in Manley die state 2, with those clash marks extending from the bust line up to the chin, very cool coin. There are also multiple clash marks on the reverse, inside the wreath, and up by the second S in states. Not sure if you noticed, but the horizontal of L in Liberty is missing!!! Pretty cool coin.
