1972 Kennedy Error? Bubble in coin?

    It's rough but what do you think? An error?

    That coin looks like it was baked, and not in an ordinary oven - in a kiln or something.

    Or (more likely) simply burned in a fire. There was a small air bubble inside the coin that built up pressure as the coin was heated. When the outside clad layers got hot enough to become a bit plastic the air bubble (under pressure) inside the coin expanded and pushed out the clad layer. After the coin cooled the bubble (or rather the clad layer that the bubble pushed-out) remained.
