A surprise addition to the $20 large cent set!!!

    Bid my $20 (ok 21 and got for 20.50) but expected the usual "you didn't win" e-mail. I'm happy "D
    The question is now from the sellers pics is positive 1798 but maybe 98/97 or even nicer the 99/98 (both have the raised 8 similar to this one) Of course won't be sure until I have it in hand.

    Nice early piece for $20. Can't say what variety it is from those pics. You'll have to post better ones when you get it in hand.

    Nice pick for the $20 copper collection. Don't know if it will help, but here's my 1798/7 you can compare with. Sometimes the reverse die cracks that go through the wreath from 6 to 9 o'clock are pretty good diagnostics.
