Was anyone else besides me stupid enough to buy the unused canvas coin bags from the Mint's website? $9 is too much, I imagine, but I wanted a couple as a souvenir. The first one I bought was a penny bag - not too exciting - but the second was a dollar bag, which I imagine is less common

I'd love to get these in quantity; maybe used they are more reasonable. Since the Mint doesn't use them any more they now a numismatic relic of the past.

When I got $600 worth of half dollars from a local bank they came in a canvas mint bag marked "cents" $50

It was free but I have nothing in it and don't know what to do with it. Conversation piece I guess.

I have tons of these bags, pennies thru dollar and bags with different bank names, etc.
I get them for free from the bank. Probably aren't worth anything, but they are fun to get!

There are around 70 of them on ebay at the moment in groups of 10 or 20 selling for a little over $1 per bag. Goto eBay and do a search for mint bags -state

Ahaaa! Why did I not think of ebay. Just about anything is there. I'll have to check it out.
