I picked these up today. I have seen them around shows but have never purchased any. Here is some info about them: http://www.so-calleddollars.com/Events/Bryan_Dollars.html
Nice! I was recently studying Bryan and his 3-time "Free Silver" campaign. Never knew he created his own coin!
Bryan didn't. Most, if not all Bryan money is actually critical of Bryan's free silver stance. For example on the second piece pictured above the "cartwheel" on the piece is the size of a Morgan dollar and the whole point was to show what the size of a silver dollar would have to be in order for it to have its full value of silver at Bryan's 16 to 1 ratio. The first piece is of similar size.
Early NORFED Attempt? Nah. I got to thinking.............what was the coiner thinking when these pieces were produced and went to the linked web page. Interesting.......until I realized that it must have been xreated with either an ipad or a smart phone in that there are no CRLF characters. I'd have to not only scroll up and down but left and right as well in order to read the content. So, I'll ask those intrepid students of numismatics who don't get turned off by such web architecture, "What was the coiners intent in producing these pieces?"
See my previous post. These were NOT intended to be circulating coins, they are political campaign tokens.
