I got this 1960 Franklin Half off Ebay real cheap last year. It was listed as a DDR and had pictures showing the areas of doubling. So can I classify this as a real DDR? The first 4 pics are the ones that I got off the listing and saved and the last 3 are ones I took of the word DOLLAR and AMERICA. I tried to get the eagle on the back but they did not come out good enough. But this coin is still in the plastic from the mint set so it's a little harder to get clear pictures through the plastic with my Sony camera which usually takes great pics. You can see some of the plastic haze in my pics. 1960 FRANKLIN DOUBLE DIE EAGLE ON REVERSE B.JPG 1960 FRANKLIN DOUBLE DIE EAGLE ON REVERSE C.JPG 1960 FRANKLIN DOUBLE DIE EAGLE ON REVERSE D.JPG 1960 FRANKLIN DOUBLE DIE EAGLE ON REVERSE.jpg 1960 FRANKLIN DOUBLE DIE ON AMERICA REVERSE.jpg
Have to put my last two pics in a separate comment apparently.

Last two pics. 1960 FRANKLIN DOUBLE DIE ON DOLLAR REVERSE B.jpg 1960 FRANKLIN DOUBLE DIE ON DOLLAR REVERSE.jpg You can see on the tip of the L in Dollar and on the A and R the doubling there. It only appears on the right side of the coin as you are looking at it.

I believe it is Machine Doubling, due to the shelf like appearance of the doubling itself. I could be wrong however...

    That's Machine, or Mechanical, Doubling.

Here's a diagram to help you distinguish between DD, and MD.
