I received the coin from lots-of-motts today. I was pretty much speechless. It is simply amazing. High grade, booming luster, huge color and overall stunning eye appeal. Here is the original post and discussion from dmott: http://www.cointalk.com/t221886/ images from dmott: Updated imgaes from me: dmott also couldn't let the drummer boy travel alone, so he snuck these guys in there too. Thanks Captain D!
I knew the controversy would be put to rest with good pics. Or maybe not...coin collectors love to argue.
yeah the coin looks completely different in these new photos. you can still see the wild colors but much better
sure as **** looks like NT to me. what kind of light set up do you use to capture toning? i just got an eos rebel that i am trying out, and so far it shows it better than my old camera, but i know light is a problem.
It's NT. The real question was whether it would be market-acceptable to a TPG. I believe it could be.
Nice pics Greg. Maybe when I make the trip over to your side of MI you can give me some pointers. I am glad the drummer boy got a good home. I still want visitation rights my friend
My opinion has not changed. The new photos make the coin appear much more attractive but I still don't think the TPG's will put it in a problem free holder. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't try. If that coin grades, it will be one of the most valuable Bicentennial Washingtons on the planet.
I'm with Paul. I believe the coin to be toned naturally in terms of AT/NT but I don't believe it to be market acceptable.
All these haters Greg and not enough appreciaters....They are just JEL. Jk I too believe it's worth a shot. The quarter would look amazing in a NGC or PCGS holder. If it did grade I wonder what it would make??
I agree completely...I wouldn't want to see it in a holder because I personally don't think it's legit or MA but that doesn't mean it won't get graded....it's a coin toss...no pun intended.
