Hi everyone, it's that time of year again for the Long Beach Coin Expo!! The show is at the Long Beach Convention Center and runs Thursday, February 7 to Saturday, February 9. The hours are 10-7pm on Thursday and Friday and 10-5pm on Saturday. But if you're planning on going Saturday expect that many dealers will start packing up and leaving in the early afternoon. Admission is $8 (but there is a $2 off coupon on the show website). You can get free admission if you're a member of Collectors Universe or if you have a PCGS Registry Set. See more details on their website: http://www.longbeachexpo.com/ Seems like there are many big things going on this show and many reasons to attend. Not only is this show the biggest and best show on the West Coast with over 300 dealers setting up, but you'll have the opportunity to see the Walton 1913 Liberty Nickel which will be on display! Also on display will be several Honus Wagner baseball cards. Magic Johnson and Jerry West will be there on Saturday signing autographs (for a hefty fee!). Finally, your admission will give you the chance to win a limited edition 5 oz. silver Panda coin. I'm sure I'm missing many other exciting events going on at the show. Of course, I'll be at the show too and I'm sharing a table with another forum member, Jay (bigjpst). We'll be at Table 448 so be sure to stop by and say hello!! We're easy to find as we're right next to another forum member, Todd (blu62vette) who will likely be very busy in his photo booth! I'll also have my #1 ranked 1909 Mint Set on display at our table so that should be another reason to make it to the show Hope to see lots of you at the show :thumb: Mike
I was wondering when I was going to see this thread. You can count me in. I'm only going to be able to make it on saturday unfortunatley. I plan on buying a ton of stuff and I will be sure to make a thread showing my purchases so all you guys can see the goodies.
I don't expect you to Brian. Live it up and get yourself another phenomenal BH and have fun at your table.
Be sure to swing by our table! :thumb: 658, if you didn't catch it above. Don't wanna repeat of the last LB show...
To the people setting up, you guys will be there saturday right? Since I'm going on the last day will it be slim pickings for me?
Some dealers won't even show up on Saturday and many others will start packing up just after Noon and be gone in the early afternoon. But there are enough that'll stay until at least 3pm-4pm to make it worth attending. I know that I plan on staying until at least 4pm on Saturday so Table #448 will be open for business
We'll be set up on Saturday as well... might dip out a couple hours early, but we'll be there when the doors open. And I wouldn't say your pickings will be "slim" as long as you arrive when the doors open. Over 80% of the dealers will still be set up at that time, but that number will decrease as the day progresses.
I will be arriving before the expo doors open. I will check this thread so I know what tables to look for.
Haaa! Even a monkey could make a Taylor sound good - That's why they're so damn expensive! Taylor should use monkeys to promote their product. That'd get people's attention! I'll pitch the idea to them ASAP. Sorry... long day. Brain is fried like KFC.
Grilled or crispy? Also you can't be tired you have a show tommorow! Any way I'm dozing off here see you on saturday, I will be the guy holding a billboard with my username for easy identification.
Grilled chicken is for sissies! Taking the 'F' out of "KFC" is like taking the "tootsie" out of the "pop". Okay, before more brain cells die from this deprivation (haven't slept a wink in 36hrs), I'm gonna hit the sack. See you Saturday!
