I think the avatar Kirkuleez has is a "pattern" for the V Nickel. EDIT: Ahhhh! You beat me to the punch Log Potato.
It may interest you to know that there is also a Judd 1690 pattern that is dated 1882 and essentially the same design that was used on the 1883 V-nickel. (I have been out-bid on the Judd 1690 a couple times).
My current and permanent avatar is in memory of Koen, a member on this board killed in a car accident last year. I exchanged quite a few PM's and sent him several coins to help him get started in US coins which he had a huge passion for despite living in Belgium. He especially loved the Morgan Dollar so when he was killed I edited an image of a Morgan to include "In Memory of Koen" on it. I have no intention of ever changing it.
I picked mine because I met her once and she is hot Noemie Lenoir a troubled soul of mixed origin but notwithstanding very Hot
I saw the movie "Boogie Nights" recently and I liked the Dirk Diggler sign. Working on a .gif one now to look like the sign blowing up in the movie.
The J-1690 had eluded me too. If memory serves me correct, there are a total of 34 Liberty nickel patterns, 31 regular issue proofs and the 1913 of course.
When I was a member of the CCF, I had this avatar ... see below => it's an antique beer-tray from the 40's or 50's that I currently keep mounted on my work-office wall (it's very, very cool) ... however, I had the avatar for over a year, plus it reminds me of some pretty bad-vibes ... => that's why I'm now trying to keep my avatars fresh & rotated!! (man, who gets kicked out of a coin forum??!! ... *whateva*) ... my wife thinks I'm some sort of wild mix between a crazy alcoholic and a geeky coin-freak ... ehhh? Cheers, coin brothers!!!
Since I was there, lots of people got kicked out including you. But I wouldn't worry about it now as you're here at a new place with a fresh start. It's the "High Life" again!
I really enjoy looking at Peace Dollars. They have simple lines, a neat history and are the essence of COOL!
About 6 years ago I was posting on another forum that didn't allow you to add pictures (except your avatar). We were talking about new purchases and this was my newest. I didn't change it for a while because I hadn't bought anything, but when I did people said that they associated me with this SLQ. It's an almost dateless 1917 T1, but it has character & the blood line of an incredible series. Its condition makes it humble, but whose hands it could have passed through make it history.
