85% sadly is not competitive at all. I know of at least one refinery in MN that pays 98.5% for gold and 92.5% for scrap silver. I'm sure there are others in that neighborhood.

It beats most gold buying places and pawn shops that buy for around 60-65% of spot. Do you have a name of the place that buys at 92.5%? I might be interested in selling some silver for that price.

Go to the city county building and register your buisness as Heated Limes Gold Buyer and pay the state it's $100... and boom... 92.5% silver.

I'm just sayin... from the public... sure 85% is not a bad price... but there's always somewhere that you can get more.

Yeah because i really want to start up a illegitimate business and pay $100 in fees and paper work just so i can sell a couple hundred dollars worth of silver. It wouldn't even be worth to do that unless your selling over $1,300 and then even if you sold only that it would be the same as just selling them at 85% than paying 100 bucks to get 7.25% better.

Since most of us don't own gold buying businesses i was just recommending a place to sell that any one can do so.

AND plus you have to pay tax's on any profit you made from the business so have fun paying 15% or more of your profits to tax's.

You're right, but making a profit of $56.95 from face of $5.05 is a a nice ROI. I recently sold 39 40% halves to a guy on craigslist for melt. Sometimes you get lucky and find someone willing to buy them for what they are actually worth, sometimes you don't and have to weigh your options on if you are still making money. I paid face for all 39 of the halves I sold so even at say 65% of melt I would have made a lot of profit, I just got lucky and sold them for melt.

The best part of that story is that I sold them the person and was right down the road from my LCS so I just took that money from the 40% and bought 90% right away.
