Radio host says last copper cents were in the 40's

    Heard it this morning on 94.9 news now,,she was talking about cents and when the last copper ones were made with someone and eliminating them and such,,then someone one the radio says it was the 1800's,,,she than says "the host that is" it was 43 during the war when they stopped, I did not hear say anything else after that....We know that is not the case...Geeeze at least be informed if you going to say something on the radio..And you are a host

    They did stop using copper during WWII, so she was right about that. But they resumed afterward.

    And the last PURE copper cents did end in the 1800's.

    Hmm, gotta separate pure copper from the pre-war bronze, the 46-48(?) use of military brass, then the return to bronze through 80.

    she did not mention they resumed,,I know they did,,you would think she would follow through and complete the topic segement
