Couple years ago we used these which gave the kids a "Millionaire Buck" and a brownie point of sorts at school.
We used to get plastic tokens

to give the kids but they won't give the bus drivers them anymore so I made up my own and they exchanged as one.

I only made 25 and they were horseblankets with a Harry Potter theme by suggestion. Only 21 worked out with laminating and there is only one left here at my house that I know of that survived. They would get returned to me by the teachers and reused all year.
It was a bit of a job to make them, so this year I decided to go through my World coins and get a coffee bucket and let the "good kids" pick out one on the way off the bus.
They can either write their name on it and turn it back in for a grand drawing or keep it. So far, I gave out about 30 coins and about 20 were entered back in for a drawing. The first drawing was 14 coins and I am getting ready for 2 new drawings. These coins are not junk. Not worth a lot but they get a kick out of it. Here's the bucket and the holdings. When I run out, I have a lot more to use around here.

I guess it is one way of sparking interest in the young numismatist. Now when I ask how many kids collect coins on the bus a bunch raise their hands! LOL!

I take no offense :grandpa: LOL and the motivation here is twofold. One main reason is my keeping the kids well behaved, the other is the young numismatist. It is not a great bragging deed at all. I have lots of stuff that I can give them and it won't hurt me a bit financially. These are only like 50 cent coins usually but once in awhile they get a better surprise. No biggie!
