    Hello,

I have a pretty basic question here: Where can I buy acetone for dipping coins? I am aware that pure acetone is what I need but from what I can see in the hardware store, the stuff they sell is not 100% pure.

I would greatly appreciate any assistance!

    Thank you.

In a hardware store - basically if you can find painting stuff, you should be able to find alcohols, acetone, turpentine, etc.

They have pure acetone at Wal-Mart near the finger nail polish remover junk.

ONYX Professional 100% Pure Acetone "Nail Polish Remover"

    It's like $2 for 16oz.

Why do you want to clean a coin? Is it being damaged with whatever is on it?

Thanks for you help guys! Also, thanks Moen for letting me know I'm crazy for actually wanting to use acetone on coins... lol, I know. But I have a couple of butt-ugly pvc gunked coins I would like to make a bit more presentable.

    Thanks again!
