split after strike delamination?

    This is an odd one. A piece clearly broke off, leaving a latent print of the original lettering.
    I outta know this, but what am I trying to call it?
    This wasn't a clamshell, as you see the edge is even. It broke from the rim.

    I don't know much about errors but I see the letters faded. Maybe a defective planchet? Someone else will chime in.

    It's a lamination that detached after the coin was struck.
