Drum roll please :loud: : BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND PAUL HOLLIS IS RETURNING TO THE COIN VAULT :headbang: :headbang:
Oh my God! I thought they kicked his tail back to New Orleans.I will give him one thing, when he first started,he had the personality and confidence of a wet dishrag but as time went on,he actually gained a bit of self confidence. You could almost tell that he was a bit embarassed to be shilling overpriced coins.
my wife hates it when i tune in to that crap, because i am always yelling at the tv 'Thats twice as much as its worth!" etc... Not to show my ignorance, but what was so "special" about this paul hollis fellow? was he especially horrid?
When Scripps Publishing announced that it was unloading Shop At Home TV,everyone assumed it would be the end,but they kept going with a skeleton staff. It was funny to see various hosts selling coins and then later in the day, comforters and then even later, cooking omlettes on the cookware segment.Robert Chambers was the only one that just stuck to coins but he had rotating sidekicks.Apparently they were successful and gradually have started hiring back some of the old hosts and guest personalities. Paul Hollis started a couple of years ago and became the regular second banana to Chambers. It was almost embarassing to watch him for the first several months because he was so nervous and obviously unused to public speaking. He was wound as tight as a spring and his body language said "I don't want to be here". It was also very obvious that he was a true numismatist and had a LOT of knowledge and gradually,he became more confident, not letting Chambers step on every line he uttered. They even used him in the pre-taped promo segments for the show, you know the type....."When I was a young coin collector"...blah blah.... Pesonally,I'll be glad to see him back in place of the know-nothing yahoos that are filling in.Even better...bring back Julie Tello..*wink*
I still see the guys from the coin shows selling knives later in the evening. They change out of their business suits before the start peddling weapons though.
I enjoyed watching the Coin Vault. But, since it went off the air several months ago, I haven't seen it anywhere. What channel is it on?
I don't know about your cable companies in Oklahoma but you can check the local listing of channels in your TV guide. Here in Virginia,it's channel 38 on Cox Cable. Oh yeah I forgot to mention that Robert Chambers does do the Sports Memorabilia segments sometimes, baseball cards and bobble head dolls..it's a hoot!
one good think about the coin vault, they do not have many commercials . Still next to wrestling, is the funniest show on tv
I seem to like that show maybe i dont comprehend who this guy is..and i thought it was going under, that is coin vault, i happy it didnt. Thats where i get my mint sets and my proofs. Peter
Back by Popular Demand The Barney Fife of Coin Vault, maybe he and Robert can continue their conversation on how much Paul likes gravy and Paul can give us his opinon on MS69 and MS70, if he ever figures it out. I will have to say, it beats the depressing world news every morning. By the way it can be seen on Directv on channel 234.
I guess they had some real fans after all. Here is a thread on a Topix.net forum from right after they pulled Coin Vault in May. http://www.topix.net/forum/business/media/T0E96B1P9NT7D4648 pretty funny.
