Well I guess I just assumed so. Well, you know thats pretty cool what you do, with all that silver, If anything goes bad, the dollar gets to inflation, you have a steady source of coins and silver on hand.

I have a bank that used to take bags - it became a mutual agreement because they didn't have to count all the coins and I didn' thave to roll them all win-win. However, I've taken a 6-8 month break from roll hunting and I don't know if they would still do it if I bring them in. This was the same deal - fill it out as a deposit slip with cashback - I always made sure to bring them donuts/bagels/coffee from time to time for helping me out.

I believe Bank of America has a coin counting service for any of their customers - you bring them a bag of coins and they send it out and credit your account so it's not instant.

When BoA was serviced by Dunbar, they used to take the bags to the vault and you would get a credit in less than a week. Now they are serviced by Garda and Garda does the counting not the cash vault. I've had bags take 7 weeks before a credit was issued and that was because I was calling them and asking every other day. Garda is overloaded with coin because they service TD Bank and all of the Penny Arcade. Now, by bringing this to their attention, I bring them in loosely rolled in the original wrapper and they give me credit right away and they put them in the bag and send them out. Now they wait the 4-7 weeks for a credit and I get my money right away. They agreed to 2 boxes a week, it's better than nothing. TD gets my others and they change the bag at least 5 times per visit ($500 per location). What a hassel.

From what I have found through my CU is they deal with the fed now. If you go to the fed site it will tell you how to go about bagging your coins for pick up and credit your account. If I drop off pre weighed bags at the credit union on wed the delevery day all marked with bank info and account info they will take them weigh and maybe count and credit my account within a week I guess/

I know for a fact that some tellers are 'in the know'. My local bank had a head teller who was more than willing to gives me halves if they had. I could never find a single silver coin though. She retired, and a younger lady took over. First batch if halves from the bank after she left yielded $24 face value in 40%, and 1 1964. In $250 face of halves. Not a major amount, but enough to make me think how much she got over the years.

try ordering boxes as they won't be searched or opened. BWR vs. CWRs.
