I just got back from my first coin show, and I have some really nice things to share!

Firstly, I bought One of these for $1950 and a 1621 Three Polker coin for $16

That is all that I bought..

However, I spent $30 on a pot luck game and won..

A 1966 mint set. Not sure of the value, but the half is 40% silver

A 1965 mint set. Dido on the silver.

    A 1973 Lincolin-Kennedy penny

    A 1971 s Proof dime!

    A 2011 Andrew Jackson $1 proof!

    A 1999 Susan B Anthony proof!

    A 1-euro coin from 2000

    I did well, no? :D

I don't currently have a good camera, though I have a 10 year old scanner that only works in windows 98 that I've been meaning to figure out to scan some..

I'll see if I can do anything this evening

Simply plugging it in to a computer running windows xp caused it to blue screen. Yea.

Haven't tried with 7, though... Haven't used it in nearly six years as well.

I guess I'm just spoiled with my iPhone. Haven't used a scanner in ages.

Sounds like you had a good time. And nice pickup too.

A old scanner may work with a Mac. the one I have has been running for about ten years now. A new scanner won't scan US paper money, so if you're buying a new one keep that in mind.

Well, the scanner, as well as its driver CD are dated August 1999.
The CD says "Works in windows 98"
I tried to install it on my windows 98 laptop, it never sees the scanner.
Installing it on a windows xp or later machine causes the application to crash. It won't work unless run under windows 95 mode.

I never had the scanner working on anything other than windows ME.

    >.< I need a new flatbed.

Why won't new ones scan paper money?

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

    Try downloading the driver updates.

There are none. And the windows 98 machine can't be networked. I have no pcmcia wlan or lan card that works :(

It's an anti-counterfeiting measure. Use a point and shoot camera.

BTW...ALWAYS look up coins before buying them. Just giving you advice. You can by 3 polkers all day long on eBay for $5-$8. You can easily get burnt by people who make coins "seem" like a good deal. It's happened to me a lot.

    Revi Mildly numismatic

If you had a good time, what difference does it really make if you spent $16 on a three polker coin? They seem to be going for from $12-$14 on e-bay, which means at least $16 shipped.

Beautiful Double Eagle! Think you pulled a good deal out of that one.
Don't think either Morgan is a key, so around melt plus a little premium.

What would you rate it at?
Or should I post that question in another thread?

I'm not a Morgan expert by any means but I see a lot of detail in the Eagles breast feathers(still small pictures) so I'd guess at least AU on both of them.
