This is on the BEP web site. "On January 28, 2013, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing will begin contacting the 150[SUP]th[/SUP] Anniversary Currency Set drawing winners who will have the opportunity to purchase one of the first 150 sets signed by the Treasurer of the United States Rosie Rios." Has anyone received notification yet? I haven't.
I just now got the call from BEP. I got one! :hail: Apparently, notifications are by phone. Caller ID said unknown caller, so I was hesitant to give my CC#. They did give me the opportunity to verify them and call back. If you get a call from Melodia Phillips, she's legit.
I figured you were under 75 when you said they called you on Monday. They called me Tuesday afternoon, and being 140 I figured they drew 75 each day
With the small number of signed sets, It wouldn't surprise me if there were only 2 here who got them. You guys are in a pretty exclusive group.
Rick,I couldnt answer that for sure. It sounded like a soft spoken African American Gentelman, real nice guy. I was on my cell phone and wasnt in a very good area when he called. I asked him to repeat his name but still couldnt understand what he said. I do know he said he as from the US Department of Treasury. I too was a little, ok a lot leary of giving my CC # out especially when the phone # was a private #. I asked if he could give me his # so I could call him back. I looked it up and it said it was from Washington DC, so I went for it. I just wonder if their was anyone out their that didnt trust the situation and said NO.
I asked to call back, too. I never give personal info to people that call me. Even if they show a legit number on caller ID, it might still be spoofed. You didn't speak to Melodia.
I received an Email message on 20 Feb 2013 with a subject of "150th Anniversary Currency Set Drawing Winner!" YEH!
Wow, it took them long enough. Maybe they can't get rid of them all. Congratulations, Clay. I hope you get a good number.
Almost a month between the first notification and your's, Clay. Maybe my thoughts of possibly being offered a second set are not irrational.
