I'm stuck to the sick bed, so I'd thought I'd shoot a few quick pics of a PCGS-graded coin I've had -- GtG! I'll end the poll in a week. Note -- if you respond to the thread, please post whether you think the coin is BN, RB, or RD as well (if you think the coin graded). Assume there's no white balance issues messing up the pictures and that the colors/shades are what would be seen under normal light. EDIT: The horizontal mark right below Lincoln's chin is on the slab, not the coin.
From those images, it looks to be a well struck, highly lustrous, lovely toned Lincoln cent. I voted 66RB.
I say the irregular yellow wash keeps it down a point from 66 to 65. An available date in full RD 66 and coins that are not roll fresh in this date run get harsh consideration at TPGs from my experience.
I am sooooo, bad with copper I'll say 65 R/B but to be honest it looks better than a 65 but I'll still sand bag it and say 65 R/B...Very nice looking piece!! CHD
I am not that great at grading (in fact I'm terrible) but I see no reason why it couldn't make it MS-67 RB. Real fantastic piece.
I completely forgot to post the answer to this GtG! A big apology for my lapse in memory...anyways, it seems that half of you were spot on to the grade: Booming luster and color gave this coin high marks from PCGS. Can't really see anything that detracts from the coin. IMHO on a good day this coin might be able to hit a 67!
