Almost every coin is just a superb gem on mine- did I just get luck or did they all turn out this way?
I havn't opened the brown box yet. I was dissapointed with the 2012 silver proof sets because one quarter had a white spot right in the field. Some coins had little plastic hairs on them and some coins were rotated severley.
Actually that was directed at Danr's mint sets but now that you mention it I was quite satisfied with my proof purchases as well.
Same here, mint unopened, clad proofs spotless and superb, silver proof had milk spots on one quarter and scratches on the plastic case.
Any time someone offers a service to you that they ask you to pay a higer price for 3 things will always happen. #1 The service they will offer will be over priced. #2 In time after they have you hooked the service will become so expensive you will not be able to pay for it. #3 The service you will start getting will become so sloppy you will not want it. After the mint found out people would pay out of the butt for neatly packaged polished silver coins that arent even coins used for tradeing did the cost go up as high. Blame the high cost of today on those that overpaid for those ASE silver round. One would have to wonder why an ounce of silver either highly pollished or what way you would have it packaged would make its worth so much higher than its real worth.
i havent gotten any mint products in 2 yrs.. my wife made me quite collecting ..( still doing something hobby related)
I haven't bought a coin for my personal collection in over 2 years. Have I quit collecting ? NO - I just havent found the next piece to buy that I really want. Think of your hiatus the same way - she didn't make you - you chose to . Even if you buy a $3 dime or pluck a nice quarter form circulation you are still collecting & I am still a collector even after not buying something for 2+ years.
