I use this case to display my choice of coins on my desk. I change them weekly.A nice way to enjoy your collection.
I found it while on vacation. It was just an open box. I made the insert and fitted it on an angle. It was probably around $10.
Nice idea. I have to go the other way with it. I have to bury my current purchases deep into the pile. Only after a little while can I pull them out to enjoy them. If the wife asks, "Oh, I have had these for a while now........"
Here is another I have . It was a jewelry box ,I raised the inside higher to show the coins off. I used foam board covered with your choice of material and hot glue.
Another jewelry box. See the inside without the top shelf. Foam board cut and hot glued to your height or angle .
Desk at work, or home office desk? I ask, because I am curious if you have coworkers, clients, vendors, etc that come up and want to see/learn about your weekly coins.
Good to know I'm not the only one who does that! I'll have some explaining to do when I get home though!
I was a bit sheepish about coin collecting on account of the cost, but fortunately my wife also found a rather pricey hobby: glass art. I actually breath a sigh of relief when she buys a sixty-dollar brush.
Lol, yeah. My wife's "hobby" is Coach purses. I just last night pull out one of the ancient gold coins I bought earlier this month. She kind of liked it, but I will take my sweet time before I show her the other three, maybe doling out one a month.
I was rather nervous yesterday when 5 packages arrived in the mail at once, but I haven't heard anything from her yet. I don't think she minds actually. Or maybe a year from now, when she wants something expensive and I say "...that's a bit steep darling," she'll come back with, "...steep you say? What about those five packages that you got on January 28th???"
