I love surprises. I almost hit the floor when I opened the package. Toned Quarter

I always enjoy gambling when it comes to internet images of coins for sale.
I decided to buy a 1964 Proof quarter that was described as "Iridescent toning". Although, it wasn't too risky since no one was bidding, and it was $9.95 delivered.

I just opened the package and couldn't believe what was inside. I took some quick images with my phone, with my normal office ceiling lights. There isn't any direct blasting on it to bring out the colors. It simply looks this amazing in normal room lighting. The image is not juiced in any way. I look forward to imaging it tonight with the good camera to really show off it's eye appeal and stunning colors.

Here is the image from the seller:

Here is what the coin actually looks like:
I believe this to be 100% natural toning. I have seen many that look like this, but the prices were much too high.

    EDIT: Updated images.

You know Greg, I was looking at this coin a few days ago, wondering it it had some potential, and this thread inspired me to take a gamble on it. We shall see...

You paid ten bucks for a 25 cent quarter? Good thing the toning made it up. :D

Looks like it soaked up a rainbow.

You said in your post that you've seen other quarters like this but the price was too high. Just curious, how much would this coin normally have gone for? Thanks.

Wow THAT is a nice looking quarter! Just goes to show, pictures of coins don't tell the whole story... for the positive or the negative. Nice score!

Depending on the grade, and I suspect this one would get a star at NGC, it could be in the $150-$400 range.

Lmao! I know you're lying. She would never approve of any coin purchase. ;)
