I got the Pawn Shop Find from my little bro today. Here are some more pictures of it, with my camera and next to my 1903 Quarter Eagle.

I'll try and take some better pictures.:headbang:

Can you get some close up of the new one---I would really like to see if it is fake or not....and what do you think about it being real now that you have it in hand.

They both feel like they are the same weight when I hold them in my hands. (It's ok, I wear gloves people. I'm not a neanderthal.) I need a scale to be 100% sure.

The 1899 has no mint luster, like it was used/handled a lot. :( (My 1903 has luster.) There is wear on Lady Liberty's ear. They both have reeded edges.

Being VERY critical, I'd give her an EF-45 for the wear on her ear, SLIGHT wear 'L' in LIBERTY, and no luster. AU-58 would be pushing it, IMHO.

(BTW: that line in front of the 1903's eye is a STAPLE SCRATCH that someone before me was kind enough to leave on her. :headbang: :headbang: )

Vroomer, a scale may be able to confirm whether or not it is fake, but it is doubtful that it can confirm the authenticity. Most counterfeit gold coins are spot on concerning tolerances.
