5 different monarchs. Worth about $35,000 in MS69 but these have a little more wear. Got them for about twice melt, or $3, at the recent monthly coin club auction.

Don't have any pics of them at the moment, but I was given a bunch of pesos. I sorted through them, and found an almost-complete collection of the $1 Mexican Pesos. Honestly, it's just missing the 2002 $1 peso and that entire collect will be finished.

The silver peso was first struck in Mexico City in something like 1866. I believe that Mexico has made both gold Pesos & silver Pesos at a number of mints since that time. One of each would be a huge collection. :D

Smallest coin I have: 1839 British three half pence

For use in the colonies.........the 1839 is quite a bit rarer than the 1843 and catalogues at approx 150 dollars in UNC....1840 is the rarest at about $300. Not much bigger than the size of a pea.

Not new pickups, but I took a few snaps of some gorgeous Canadian large cents which reside in my "most treasured" area of my collection ;)

    KM 307 1812 Brazil 960 Reis

A Brazil 1812 960 Reis struck over a colonial 8 reales. These are not uncommon, but scarce in this grade. It demands a premium when original elements from 8 Reales still visible depending on original mintmark, date and assayer.

Have been working on my South African collection and added an odd 40 pieces in the last month. Would like to share these due the nice eye appeal. The first is KM 80.2 1969 Silver SAR rand and the second KM 2 1898 ZAR penny.

Sorry Jello.........no idea, I collect Chinese and Canadian....and only dabble in the British stuff....I didn't think we went in for 'proof mint' marks over here...die engraver? I'm actually considering sending the 1839 back as it has some edge damage which I couldn't see before purchase without loupe.

I am growing more fond of large copper nickel coins due to nice tone. Picked up these two from East territories and Dominican R. It is a shame that they are valued so low.

Buy low sell high! Terrific design on the reverse of the Dominican piece, the wide band of field along the rim with the oversized legends gives it a very attractive overall look. Reminds me a little of the Honduran Lempira piece from the 1930s
