I've recently acquired a bunch of 1921 -1926 Peace dollars and this is the shiniest one I got. I think it's not too bad for paying face value
The one you posted looks real. If the others are also real then you got a sweet deal if you paid $1 each. How did you get the coins? Are the weights good & the rims and reeding well defined like true mint product?
I'm sorry, but that thing is butt ugly... but a $1.00 price tag makes it the prettiest thing in the world! Well done! :thumb:
Yes, I've checked for any signs that could prove this to be fake this checks out as a true minted coin. I did pay only one dollar for this and as I am in the bush part of Alaska, just getting into this numismatics is interesting. (And I don't have a lot of money, so what I do get I am happy for anyway )
If ya got it for 'face' well then good for you dear fellow. I couldn't do that when I was a kid and now i'm sportin' a beard........
I snatched a 1921 Morgan off ebay once for $1 buy-it-now. Free shipping too. I think the seller meant to do auction, but they mailed it to me anyway and left a positive fb!
I work in retail and sometimes my boss gets people that desperately need money (no banks in small, rural villages or coin shops) so they come in and trade $1 coins for $1 bills. It's pretty sad for them but very helpful for me I've also been able to buy Morgan Dollars (not great like the ones I see posted here but in good condition anyway [meaning still has detail but has a few scratches or nicks]). I also bought some silver walking liberty halves that I still haven't been able to post photos of. I don't have any real coaching in this and would love any feedback on my posts. The more feedback I get, the better my understanding will be for this fun hobby I have. Thank you all for sharing your thoughts
The coin you posted appears to be only slightly circulated, but it looks like it's been harshly cleaned - scrubbed. As such, its numismatic value is small. The good news is that the silver content values it at $24.30 according to today's spot. Pretty damn good for a dollar!
