Through $700 so far, no silver.
Silver, errors and varieties, and I'll either dump the rest or see if my dealer wants them at face tomorrow. I'd rather sell them to him for face so he can ship them out and sell them for $30 profit, than dump them on my banks.

First time posting results! Starting small :)

    $10 in cents.

Two wheats.. and I learned how this can be quite addicting!

    1953 d

    About 30% coppers.

So, I've read up a bit but still trying to figure out... what is the best way to dump these? Planning on taking them into a branch I have an account with... should I re-roll or not? How much $ worth is "kosher" to dump in cents at a time?

    Thanks!

Call them up ahead of time and ask. In some parts of the country many banks have counting machines so you don't have to re-roll. But in other areas they're not so common, so re-rolling is the norm. Either way, $10 in pennies shouldn't be a problem at all.

    Ike bag done.

80 to be looked over later, going to go through and pull the nicest 50 or so and toss the rest back.

    5 lowballs... '71 in AG, '71-D in AG, '72-D in F12, 2 '76 T2's in VFish.

    8 T1 bicentennials.

3 '72 T2's... one of which is very, very badly damaged. Cleaned to heck on the front, glue and some kind of ash residue on the reverse. Signed the obverse, "This is a T2. :(" and tossed it back in the bag lol. I wouldn't usually mark such an elusive coin, but this one is so beat it's not worth anything over face at all. On the other hand, the other two T2's were nice... one is a solid AU coin, the other a lower-grade MS coin, I'd say 62.

    1 '71-D FEV. AU55 or so.

3 Proofs. '73, '76 and '78. All impaired or damaged. The '73 was hanging with the '72 T2 I marked and tossed back... clearly in a fire and was glued to something. There was about 25 coins like that in the bag. The '76 has some corrosion on the obverse.

    A lone '73-P. NIFC, keeper.

And the best thing in the bag wasn't even an Ike, or a dollar coin for that matter. A double-broadstruck '86-P half. :D

They're going to order me a bag every week. :)

Oh man I wish I could get a bag of Ikes every week... BTW the difference in sound on that broadstruck half would definitely be because of the different shape.

Did four boxes of halves today: No silver and one box was $2 short. I did find a double-clipped 1983 P and a 2002 P with a lump on the reeding, though. Pics coming in a little bit.

First thing I'd like to say is thanks to you all for the great advise that's posted here! I've been reading this thread for a couple of months now and finally jumped into CRHing this month. Here are my results:

    2 boxes halves: 2 90% (1 Bennie), 9 40%
    2 boxes dimes: 52, 60, & a 62 in the Teller's tray (I can't believe that actually happens)
    4 boxes nickels: 6 wars, 5 Buffs (20, 27, 3 no dates), 1 V (1901 reverse is blank), and a 99-d error (mis-aligned die?)

I am hooked....I've got 2 boxes of halves coming on Friday...this is a blast

Nice results for a starter, all around. Where are you located?

Also, I should tell you, that as a new member whom has benefited from this thread, general forum decorum dictates that you must mail the entirety of your first months' finds to me. I'll PM you my address.

I haven't either... I was like "What the heck is this?!" and the wheels started turning and I figured it was a broadstrike. Wasn't sure, wanted confirmation, got my confirmation. Pics below for anybody too lazy to click over to PCGS.

Another Box of Halves last night: Another Skunk.

Right now, I've got 44 silver coins for the year. I'm trying to stay ahead of the day of the year (44 silvers, today is the 30th day of 2013...I am +14 for the year). If I can end up at 365, I'll be happy.

Got another two boxes today to pick up.
