It looks pretty good. Yeah, it is close on whether or not it would slab with a grade, but is definitely worth what you paid for it--not a bad looking coin at all!!!! I bet it makes it into a PCGS VF 35 slab.

Now the question is do I crack it and send it back in or do I leave it and put it in our upcoming live auction??

I'd definitely leave it as is... to me it appears somewhat (being kind) unattractive.
Good for the price, but I just don't see it in ngc or pcgs plastic... but man, if it did then you'd really score.
Leave it alone, and I still think you do ok.. just not as well.

I'd get out of it as is.. likely with a bit of profit.

I'd crack it out. If it came back details, you could always sell it raw for more than you paid for it no matter what. That date always sells. The SEGS slab isn't worth anything.

What if it comes back from ngc or pcgs as corroded, or cleaned, or otherwise not slab worthy.. Then how do you sell it ? Crack it out and sell it raw without noting the tpg's opine ? I think the best thing to do is give it a ride in SEGS holder... maybe not worth anything to some folks, but I'd prefer a coin in SEGS , or PCI plastic over raw 90% of the time to the same coin in raw... especially if the price difference is minimal or only marginally higher. Anyway, let us know how she rides Lost'D.. would be interesting to know what comes back from ngc or pcgs if you go that road. Cheers !

Good date, but I don't like the way it looks personally.

    Snooze And Lose

Someone won what I consider to be a "good deal". My snipe bid would have been $1526. That coin sold for just slightly more than what I paid for a sight seen slabbed VF 1889cc yesterday.

Personally I've found some beautiful coins in SEGS slabs

I hope you were the winner Matt. :thumb:

I don't recommend posting at 3 a.m. when the date/time can't be read because of blurred vision and poor color contrast, and when the entire thread hasn't been read.
