The US Mint showed that my $5 SF UNC Commem shipped on 10/19. It even had a FEDEX tracking #. I always like to track my merchandise, coins or otherwise. The FEDEX website couldn't find it! I called FEDEX. They have no record of that tracking number. I called the Mint. "Sir, does your tracking number start with a '2' "? I said, "yes, ma'am. Sure does." Her reply, "oh, I am sorry sir. The wrong courier picked up your package for shipping. Those actually went out via USPS. Sorry." Well, now I can't track it. But I was assured I would get it and it is insured. Not a US Mint bashing....but how did THAT happen?!
I wondered why I did not have something from FEDEX today. My uncirc said the same thing and it looks like the tracking number starts with a 2. Sigh - guess I have to wait a few more days.
Wow, the Mint is sure having problems with those SF Gold coins, between the proofs falling out of the capsules, mine included, and the uncs. with the shipping error.
Where's mine??? My AEG set shows that it was shipped USPS on Oct. 7 to my post office box. I still have not receivced it. Tracking # on web site will not work. I called Mint. They say they can't track. I ask for Supervisor. Supervisor advise me that # indicates it is Fed Ex shipment and that since it went to a PO box to check back next week. If I like I can check with Fed Ex to see if they have gotten it back or they know anything about the shipment. Call Fed Ex, tracking # is not one of theirs. Call Mint back. Another rep tells me Tracking # indicates USPS but can't track it until it gets in to my zip code. Customer rep says ship date might not be exactly correct and I should recieve next week. :headbang:
Well I got my 5$ unc. today - and will be shipping it back on Monday. Looks like the reverse has a big stain on the right hand side with a rub spot. Will be returning as damaged - first time I had to do this.
