Any fans on the board? What do you think of this? http://www.doctorwho.tv/whats-new/a...der-coin-celebrates-doctor-who-in-new-zealand $130-150 for a 1 oz silver round seems a bit ridiculous to me though. ($155NZD + shipping)
Looks cool. Is that colorized or hologram? That's the only turn-off for me. - I've always been a fan, and really like the new stuff. - Here is one I've been trying to hunt down: http://www.royalmint.com/shop/doctor_who_dalek_silver_medal Exterminate... Exterminate...
Or go back in time, land the Tardis inside the Royal Mint, and pick up some examples of those low mintage (5,000) editions...
I saw the announcement the other day but when I saw the price I said, "I'll pass".... too much of a premium for me to justify even if I have been a fan since 1974....
I like the Royal Mint ones without the color. But yes the premiums are crazy. Just have to keep an eye out on auctions and stuff. I see some for $110, but I will not pay that; would be willing to go double spot though.
For the banknote collectors out there, there are also 2 DW notes that were created for the series (to be used when money came flying out of an ATM). They come in a 10 L & 20 L pattern: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Runaway_Bride_(Doctor_Who)
