    Espionage warnings from the (US) Defense Department caused an international sensation a few years ago over reports of mysterious coins with radio frequency transmitters, until they were debunked.

    The culprit turned out to be a commemorative quarter in Canada.

    That's pretty crazy. I'm a long time tool maker and currently run an edm dept. I could easily cut a slot in one or half & pocket a pair to make a hollow nickle. I probably won't, I'm into saving change, not destroying it.
