Two reasons. I had to give up my koi pond, because of our resident toddler grandson. At the same time, my son left home to serve the US Army and left behind a number of barely filled in Whitman coin folders . Without the pond, I had lots of spare time on my hands; with my son in the army, my spare time was spent at first constantly worrying about him being in Afghanistan. It seems that filling in the empty Whitman folders was theraputic for me, because the hunt for cents, nickels, state quarters and dimes got my mind off worrying about my son.

My son's enlistment ended a year ago, he came back in one piece. My collecting continues. He thinks I'm crazy!

Don't feel bad, my family looks at funny me when I bring home $50 in pennies (then again, so do the tellers :smile)

I become involve in Numismatist after I received this White Penny/Dime 2 Full dates 1995 Obverse. Then subscribed a Coin Magazines year 1996.:thumb:

I did that too! It's amazing what will turn up. I'm thinking about a vacation to Canada to return all the cents I've accumulated, the Canadians probably will need them.

I just took a trip to Toronto this past summer and spent the majority of my Canadian CRHing finds too!
