    I can think of 4 British Commonwealth countries that had a gorilla or a monkey on a coin;

    Cook Islands 2003 1c.

    Kiribati 2003 5c.

    Nigeria 2003 1 Kobo.

    Somaliland 2002 20/-.

    Are there any others?

    You mean they don't have a coin of Prince Charles yet?

    Bart,I had forgotten to mention that Gibraltar also has monkeys on coins.You've got a 5p. shown there.There is also the 1971 25p. crown.

    Hong Kong also has a monkey on a coin - the 1980 gold $1,000 piece.I wonder if Canada has ever depicted a monkey on any of its $15 medal-coins.

    Gxseries,thank you for reminding me about Singapore's coinage issues.

    BTW,China isn't a British Commonwealth country.

    Aidan, these 2 coins are from the Endangered Species first series. The 2nd series was issued in 2004 featuring birds and this year the 3rd series depicts marine reptiles.

    New Zeeland has a gorilla on a coin, or they did last year anyways.
