1835 Barber Half - Overton-?

    Here is another folks - it looks to me like the 35 is small or something...the only other thing I notice is the distance between the 8 and the 3...

    Anyone have any ideas? Other than I have been playing too much on this site today...

    edit - the die is not rotated like this - I dont know what i did there

    Wow, they were calling them Barber coins five years before he was even born? :)

    The length, width, distance, etc. can vary greatly between dies. While the '35' on the this die marriage may be small, within other die marriages for the date, the '18' is small, or the '83' is abnormally large.

    These differences are what give die varieties their name, and it's also what makes them so collectible. :)

    HA...like I said I have been playing on the site a lot today and prob need to take a break....

    I cant believe I made that error...lol...
