It is so cold that I wish I was in Hawaii right now. Oh well, coins will have to do. Here are pics of the Hawaii ATB 5 ounce bullion and 5 ounce collector coins. Enjoy, TC :smile
The bullion version has no mint mark and is shiny The collectors version carries the P mint mark and has a vapor blasted (matte) finish. I don't know if there is any difference in premium.
The bullion version looks proof-like and the collector version has more of vapor blasted satin finish. The collector version also has a P mint mark on the obverse. Both are 5 ounces of .999 silver. These look really nice in hand. The center of the volcano plume looks 3D/high relief. Oops...forgot the premium. The collector version is selling for $300-$500+ on the bay. The bullion version is selling for about $200+. Both are trading now at a significant premium to initial cost. :smile TC
Thanks, so is the MM on the obverse? It was kind of hard to tell the difference of the finishes from the pictures, but I think I can see what you mean.
That's my poor coin/macro photography skills. The first pic is the bullion version and the second is the collector version. Any smudging or glare is on the holder or due to lighting, respectively. TC
Thanks guys, ive been hearing about these 5 OZ rounds, but I still dont know how I feel about them yet. I should probably acquire one sooner rather than later
I am not looking for a complete set. I have decided to acquire a few that have appealing designs...at least to me. TC
