Strange line

    Hello .
    On the reverse of this penny dated 1976 D , a strange line starts from the third column on the right side of Montecello , and then goes up left ward . Could it be a die crack ?

    Looks to be damaged. Something that happened while in circulation.

    First, it's not Montecello, that's the Lincoln Memorial. Montecello is on the nickel.

    Second, that's Post Mint Damage (PMD). What's in the middle looks like tool marks or could be from a dime or quarter though I doubt a coin would do that damage. The line you're talkinga bout on the right, also looks like PMD.

    Well, since you're being picky, it is spelled Monticello, not Montecello.

    Didn't realize correcting someone was called being picky. And thanks for the correction on spelling, didn't see I misspelled it.

    Die cracks are raised, that damage is not.
    So, PMD.
