Most of the older holders are long gone but I saved several just for fun. Never wanted to stick more money in a low value coin. Please share what you have.
I loved those old PCI holders Larry . . . found some tremendous bargains in those. I don't believe I own one any longer.
I got this one just for the coin, Then found it was a hard to find variety due to being struck with a damaged die on the reverse.
How about a Paul Seitz vintage coin case? He was a pioneer in the manufacture of plastic holders for coins.
Re PCCI (PCI) Larry's holder is type 3 or type 4 - need to see the reverse (3 has the cert# back there, 4 has the cert# plus a bar code). Alurid's is type 1 (grade in the photo). Type 2 does not have the grade, but the back panel on 1 and 2 are blank (vs 3 or 4). Most of the SAMPLES that PCCI distributed via their ad are type 2 (Schwager# PCI-010-1-2). I have one type 3 (Schwager# PCI-010-1-1). The ad appears in many places, the most accessible is The Numismatist, September 1989, pg 1477 (NNP or Money.org). @ldhair 3cs is my series, if you ever want to sell it, please hit me up. It would join its PCCI type 4 cousin:
Thanks for the info. Have not done much research on this holder. It is always nice to learn something about things I own.
This is an interesting photo cert. The cert and coin came in a fancy folder. The cert. is actually wrong. The cent die was actually clashed with the die for the quarter. S-8.
Cool Photo Certs. I have come across some Morgans in a few different ones. But the coins didn't appeal to me for the price.
