If it's in a CWR, then sure, go for it. If worse comes to worse, you can just put them back in and pretend you never opened it. If it's a BWR, I would just leave it how it is and preserve the history.
Not sure, I do know there is thin tissue wrapped around the coins and then the red wrapper you see in the picture surrounds the the thin tissue. Does this give u any clues?
Banks didnt put UNC on them so this is a collectors roll could have some great coins I would open it go throught the first four or five coins if its a high grade roll I would put the coins back mark the roll and save it some where dry Good Luck
That's definitely a CWR. My guess is some dealer would collect up coins and sell them in rolls like that. If the tape is still intact on both ends I'd personally keep it wrapped up.
Okay, I was bored so I went ahead and opened it. Here is a pic of the end of roll coin... me likes the toning
I will pull the first few coins out of the tissue roll and throw some pics up and see what you guys think... gimme a few mins.
Okay first 8 coins, obverse and reverse. Thoughts? Ill actually wait a while before proceeding unlike the original thread question..
Nice roll. Common coins, though. I'd probably just keep them in the roll, I have a BU roll of '55-S somewhere around here... bought it for a song ($10) and tossed it into a bag full of other BU rolls.
