are struck through grease coins overly common?

    bryantallard show me the money....so i can look through it

    i was roll searching for my WAM's and these were just there. i see it alot on the reverse of quarters. are these struck through grease or something else? advice appreciated

    They are extremely common especially for Lincoln cents.

    I agree with cmp9ball. I see them all the time missing the "O" in Of. Dunno why it's that letter in particular but yeah...

    I agree. Haha, it's actually surprising to find a cent that still has that area!

    This may be a struck through grease, but this is actually a common place for a weaker strike (can't recall the exact reason).
    Keep up the hunt!

    I've found several halves struck through grease. Almost always happens on the obverse over "LIBERTY" and the date.
