An interesting/weird dollar coin

ok, at the first glance it looks like a badly damaged coin



but this catches my eye --- looks like an extra star

and something under the R


and

some letters at the edge

any ideas?

Damage from some type of machinery. Thus the symmetry.

 

I've seen parking lot coins with better eye appeal. This coin is so damaged that even if it were to have an extra star, you wouldnt be able to say if it was there before or after being minted. Bury her now and let her rest in peace.

 

yup, i was leaving it in my car when i need it for tolls lol or maybe put it on ebay for a few bucks if someone want it lol

 

A very bad case of road rash. I would spend it.

 

We might have thought it is an extra terrestrial coin ...
