I was amused by this listing on eBay. The coin is described in the title as "Exceptionally fantastic." This is clear from the photo I am attaching. The seller also says: "This one would look great in either a NGC or PCGS holder." http://www.ebay.com/itm/Exceptional...6909223?pt=US_World_Coins&hash=item53ed808827
Remember boys and girls, eBay is a place to market and sell your stuff. Sellers will use whatever words they can to attract buyers. To some, that might be a "fantastic" coin. I have G4 coins I think are fantastic. So with that in mind, I'm not at all surprised in how people sell and describe their junk on eBay. :thumb:
No, it's a rare date for the series and I'm trying to complete the set, but I do have some standards.
I do understand that from a marketing perspective you want to make your product sound attractive, but when what you say is so obviously removed from reality then it makes you seem untrustworthy. Plus, these sorts of descriptions lose any effect they might have when sellers use them to describe every coin, no matter how it looks. While I will always make my own judgment and look for the best deal, I am certainly less inclined to buy from someone who is dishonestly playing up the quality of their product like this seller is.
Here's another good one from the same seller. It's funny in an ironic way. The title: [h=1]Exceptionally Splendid Considerable Sweet Choice No Date Large Cents - Poor[/h] http://www.ebay.com/itm/Exceptional...95?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item53ea626a13
I know which seller you are reffering to (WWC). He uses some automated title generator for his listings. You will see some hilarious ones sometimes. Here are some examples from his current auction: "Absolutely Excellent 1893-CC Morgan" "Exceedingly Eccentric 1893-O Morgan" "Exceedingly Good-looking 1928-P" And my current favorite one... "Absolutely Agreeable-looking 1895-O Morgan Silver Dollar" At least I hope he is using an auto title generator. ps: His prices are exceedingly Eccentric Over Priced. I have made more than fair offers on some of the "Agreeable-looking" toners. He will barely budge.
