Picked these two beauties up at the show on Sunday. I think I got a decent deal on them. 1909 was priced at $25 and the 1910 at $23......on the 50% table ;) So I paid 1/2 of what I mentioned. I thought they were in the ballpark I'd pay for a coin in that condition.

Anyways, what do you think of these two?

1909 - Spots on the reverse are toning. Great luster.

1910 - Couldn't capture the luster on this one but it is there. Compared it to a BU 1912 Lincoln, very smiliar luster. Looked weakly struck to me.

    Well IMHO the coins grade---

1909--MS63---unless that is wear on the right ear of wheat.
1910--Au58---it just looks like wear to me...

The 1909 doesn't show any wear and is actually a pretty deep strike (compare it with mine). The 1910 most likely is just a weak strike.Nice coins there!

Yes, pretty good deal , I'd agree with Speedy, MS63, posibly 64 on the 09,
AU58 on the 1910, looks like the slightest wear and small nicks on Abe's face. I'd have bought them both though.

    I would call the 09 a 64+, and the 10, I think would grade a 62/3

    Interesting spread of opinions.

The 1909 had MS64 written on the 2x2. I completely ignored it and assigned a MS63+ to it myself.
The 1910 had MS63 written on it. Again, ignored it, and gave it at least AU55 if not a few points higher.

If I ever send in a submission, I want to send in my 1909 and 1909-VDB. Just to see how my opinions compare to a TPG.

Based on the pics I think both coins are AU, I also think the 1910 has been dipped to remove traces of verdigris.

One day I want to send to NGC my 1909-S VDB and 1909 and 1909S and 1909VDB and the 1909-S IHC and 1909 IHC and get them in one of their muti-holders....so far the Key Dates would all grade VF so I think that is my grade I want to aim for.

That would be a very cool looking holder and set. I want to see pictures when it happens!
