Found this coin on a creek bank

    Odd that both sides are the same. May want to post what part of the world you found it in, if it is indeed an authentic piece from somewhere, that could help identify it I guess.
    Also, welcome to CT.

    They appear to be mirror images.

    Looks like a token of some sort, I've seen similar before, but nothing like that. Try looking up Alabama tokens

    My first thought was that it could be some kind of university seal. In the second image there might be an owl with a book at the top. But maybe I'm just seeing what I would like to see. ;)

    Looks like some sort of liquor bottle seal to me... like the aluminum seals you see on wine bottles. How heavy is it?

    Now that you mention it, that seems very plausible. Mirrored image because it was one die that pressed on to aluminum. And the jagged edge means it was probably at the top of the bottle.

    And one side does seem incuse, now that I look at it more.
