Update***** Clickandship is, as they say on ebay, "No longer a registered user." Watch out for any reincarnations of this rip-off artist. If anyone finds this ebay "power seller" doing business again under another name, please let us all know.
Coinuts, another ebay power seller just went down the tubes Message from ebay: Our records show that you were a bidder or buyer of one or more of this seller's items. We recently removed this seller's active listings and suspended the seller's trading privileges. Due to privacy concerns we cannot share further details about this seller. What's ebay doing? Finally cleaning house or something?
Thanks for the information Moen. Knowing that kind of stuff is priceless when it comes to buying on ebay. I was recently looking at some of Coinnuts' listings. Good thing I didn't bite! I too will post suspicious sellers in the future.
All I can guess is that ebay is finally sick of all the complaints and is actually standing by it's policies for a change. Their actions are long overdue if you ask me. I like buying coins on ebay but it has been getting a bit sticky lately and I started going back to my local dealer more often rather than risk dealing with some flaky seller. You go ebay girl! :thumb:
It's been close to two years now since I last bought a coin from Ebay. It just got too risky. I don't plan to go back. I'm pretty happy with everything I ever bought there, but now I realize that it was mostly dumb luck that kept me from getting burned. It's too bad that it tends to attract con artists because it was a good marketplace.
Check out Coinuts feedback. It looks like he closed the shop and just screwed a TON of people. http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISA...uts&items=25&page=1&frompage=-1&iid=-1&de=off
One thing to consider .. maybe a look on a brighter side that lacks malicious intent ... with all the phishing schemes goingon with both ebay and paypal, as well as many many other sites ... consider the posibility that this sellers Ebay or Paypal account were hacked, stolen or otherwise fraudulenty used? If this did happen, the seller would not be able to access his Ebay account to either Email winning bidders or log into paypal wot collect monies and addresses from which to ship items. I am full awafre of Ebays downsides made more dangerous to all users because of slimy people who love to git somethiong for nothing. .. But for a powerseller who sold 2000+ items a month, a seller who madea ton of money i am sure .. to just up and leave - i would think his account was out of his hands.. BUT, Ebay will take legal action, they have for me in the past ... They even froze the Paypal account the seller used (in my case) and if that seller ever tries to open another paypal account.. all monies will be siezed. So instead of my assuming the worst, and that this seller maliciously stole money from the coin collecting community, I will prefer to think it was out of his hands. But like any seller and all transactions on Ebay, There is always the possibility of being screwed and losing our money for an item we bought... Even from longstanding sellers. We just have to vigalent and beware ... Good luck to all Ebay'ers hya: hya:
I dunno buddy, the folks in the feedback comments made it clear he's not answering phone calls or e-mails either and it looks like he bailed a while ago from some of their comments. I'm thinkin he got tired of it all and decided to get into some other line of work and just decided to clean some people out. Clickandship has pretty much done the same thing it seems and been naru'd. I'd bet ebay blew everyone off and looked the other way until it came time to collect their fees and then when they got bent over they took action. I just wonder why coinuts is still goin?
I can give someone the benefit of the doubt but I was the one that didn't get my emails returned. I was the one that waited while they held my money as they tried to find good deals on bulk purchases from other sellers. I was the one that was asked to withdraw my negative feedback when they eventually got around to sending me the coin that I had won oh so long ago. All I have left is doubt for their integrity and a deep suspicion of even the honest coin sellers. At this point, if I had to give them the benefit of anything, it would be the benefit of this good advice. :loud: Stop screwing honest buyers and find another line of work.
Another thing to keep in mind is that people get sick and people die. So there is often a legitimate reason for disappearing from Ebay.
That's quite difficult to believe. I bought a palladium coin in the past from coinuts and I was very happy. It was an international package from the US to Australia and it was just well packed and arrived here like any normal mail would do. Probably I was just lucky in the past.
Wouldn't it be nice if CoinTalk had some kind of mechanism to keep track of scam artists like that? Maybe a simple listing of known bad ebay sellers with all the information known about him/her.
coinuts/clickandship Hello, we are not dead! This is Kevin, owner of coiNuts, the store in Idaho, and the online ebay name. My Daughter is the owner of the clickandship name on ebay. We were in an accident, Jetski's on labor day. Both bones in my right leg were ggbroken. Over 2 weeks in the hospital for both of us, and been at home (with lots of medicine) for a few weeks. This last sunday was 9 weeks. I would like to explain what happened. We us the ebay program Seller Manager Pro, and all our items relist automatically. So for 4-5 weeks, items were listed, sold and relisted... but nobody was here to ship or answer emails etc. WHAT A MESS!!!!! We have over 4000 emails, and over 1500 packages to ship. If you have an order with us, please be patient, we will fill them, as soon as we can. Thanks to all our great customers, and those of you who had faith in us. With over 60,000 positive feedbacks, and over 100,000 sales, we take our business very seriously. We are trying to get ebay up and running, should be there in a couple more weeks..... p.s., I'll post my great x-ray. I have it up in the shop. Thanks, Kevin coiNuts
For the record, I have bought items from Kevin, aka coinuts, a few times in the past without problem. The stuff was as listed, and shipped fairly quickly, in my experience with him at least. Sometimes things do happen to people beyond their control. Hopefully, he will get the mess squared away, and take care of the many people who would like to kill him right now.
That's a very strange story. I won an auction at the end of July and didn't receive anything until just after Labor Day and only after several hounding emails and a few terse responses from the seller. The problem began well before Labor Day. I also received several emails asking me to remove my negative feedback in the month of September which I ignored. You can't deny that you sell coins and then go out and try to buy them elsewhere. I won't deal with presellers using stock photos on ebay, it's just too risky. You've lost me as a customer and I think your story smells fishy like the underside of a Jetski. The funny thing about ebay sellers is that they are a lot like stocks-Past preformance is NO guarantee of future success!
